چکیده
Abstract The impact of forest management on biodiversity is difficult to scrutinize along gradients management. A step towards analyzing the comparisons between managed and primary forests. standardized typology tree-related microhabitats (TreMs) a multi-taxon indicator used quantify biodiversity. We aim analyze influence environmental factors occurrence groups TreMs by comparing collected data for forests in Black Forest (Germany) Western (Slovakia) Southern Carpathians (Romania). To model richness different per tree, we generalized linear mixed models with diameter at breast height (DBH), altitude, slope aspect as predictors European beech ( Fagus sylvatica (L.)) , Norway spruce Picea abies (L.) ) silver fir Abies alba (Mill.) temperate mountain found congruent results overall vast majority TreM groups. Trees hosted greater all specific types than individuals main drivers are DBH while play minor role. recommend nature conservation managers focus: 1) remaining 2) approaches biodiversity-oriented selection high-quality habitat trees that already provide high number based comparison

Altitudinal Patterns of Species Diversity and Phylogenetic Diversity across Temperate Mountain Forests of Northern China
The spatial patterns of biodiversity and their underlying mechanisms have been an active area of research for a long time. In this study, a total of 63 samples (20m × 30m) were systematically established along elevation gradients on Mount Tai and Mount Lao, China. We explored altitudinal patterns of plant diversity in the two mountain systems. In order to understand the mechanisms driving curre...
متن کاملAcetaldehyde exchange above a managed temperate mountain grassland.
An overview of acetaldehyde exchange above a managed temperate mountain grassland in Austria over four growing seasons is presented. The meadow acted as a net source of acetaldehyde in all four years, emitting between 7 and 28 mg C m-2 over the whole growing period. The cutting of the meadow resulted in huge acetaldehyde emission bursts on the day of harvesting or one day later. During undistur...
متن کاملTree species distribution in temperate forests is more influenced by soil than by climate
Knowledge of the ecological requirements determining tree species distributions is a precondition for sustainable forest management. At present, the abiotic requirements and the relative importance of the different abiotic factors are still unclear for many temperate tree species. We therefore investigated the relative importance of climatic and edaphic factors for the abundance of 12 temperate...
متن کاملMultiple Browsers Structure Tree Recruitment in Logged Temperate Forests
Historical extirpations have resulted in depauperate large herbivore assemblages in many northern forests. In eastern North America, most forests are inhabited by a single wild ungulate species, white-tailed deer (Odocoileus virginianus), and relationships between deer densities and impacts on forest regeneration are correspondingly well documented. Recent recolonizations by moose (Alces americ...
